About the Role

We are looking for a Fabric Tester who will be responsible for conducting fabric quality and performance tests to ensure that all fabrics meet the required quality standards before moving into production.

The ideal candidate should have valuable knowledge of fabric testing methods, quality parameters, and textile standards, with strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct routine fabric quality and performance testing as per required standards and specifications.
- Check colour fastness to washing, rubbing, perspiration, light, etc.
- Conduct shrinkage testing and record dimensional changes after washing.
- Perform RIP / Tear strength testing and other strength-related tests.
- Check GSM (Grams per Square Meter) and fabric thickness.
- Conduct pilling resistance and abrasion tests.
- Check fabric width, construction, density and other physical parameters.
- Conduct wash tests and evaluate fabric appearance after washing.
- Check spirality / skewness and dimensional stability wherever applicable.
- Identify fabric defects and quality issues during testing.
- Maintain proper fabric testing records, reports and documentation.
- Compare test results against approved specifications and quality standards.
- Highlight any quality deviations or failed test results to the concerned team.
- Coordinate with fabric suppliers, mills,



merchandising and production teams for resolution of quality issues.
- Ensure fabric quality is approved before bulk production.
- Maintain proper records of lab dips, fabric submissions, test reports and approvals, wherever required.

Candidate Profile

- Diploma / Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Apparel or related field.
- 1–4 years of experience in fabric testing / textile quality / fabric quality control.
- Good understanding of different fabric types and their quality parameters.
- Hands-on knowledge of fabric testing equipment and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to identify and communicate fabric quality issues effectively.
- Experience in apparel manufacturing / textile / garment industry will be preferred.
