To carry out accurate and effective manual and machine-based fabric cutting as per approved markers, patterns, job cards and production requirements, ensuring cutting accuracy, optimum fabric utilization, minimum wastage, correct bundling and timely feeding to the sewing department.

A. Fabric & Lay Preparation

- Verify fabric type, colour, shade, lot, width and quantity before cutting.
- Check fabric for defects, shading, holes, stains and other abnormalities.
- Ensure proper fabric relaxation before cutting wherever required.
- Check lay length, ply height, alignment and fabric direction.
- Ensure correct grain line, nap direction and face direction as specified.
- Verify the approved marker before starting cutting.

B. Machine Cutting Operations
- Operate straight knife cutting machines safely and efficiently.
- Operate round knife machines for suitable cutting requirements.
- Operate band knife machines where applicable and as authorized.
- Use other approved cutting equipment as per the garment/style requirement.
- Select the appropriate machine, blade and cutting method based on fabric type and cutting requirement.
- Set and adjust machine speed, blade condition and other operating parameters as permitted.
- Ensure blades are sharp and suitable for the fabric being cut.
- Maintain proper control of the machine while cutting through the complete lay.
- Follow the marker accurately without deviation.
- Maintain accurate corners, curves, notches and component shapes.




- Ensure drill marks and other required markings are properly made.
- Avoid panel distortion, uneven edges, over-cutting and under-cutting.
- Stop the machine immediately if abnormal noise, vibration, blade damage or other unsafe conditions are noticed.

C. Cutting Accuracy & Quality
- Check the first cut/sample panels against the approved pattern and specification.
- Ensure all cut components conform to required measurements and shape.
- Check top, middle and bottom plies where required to ensure cutting consistency.
- Prevent size, shade, lot and style mixing.
- Identify and segregate defective cut panels.
- Inform the Cutting Supervisor immediately about any discrepancy in marker, fabric, lay or cutting.

D. Machine Safety & Maintenance
- Follow all prescribed safety procedures while operating cutting machines.
- Use required PPE and machine guards.
- Never operate a machine without proper safety protection.
- Handle cutting knives/blades carefully during operation and replacement.
- Ensure electrical cables, switches and machine components are in safe condition.
- Clean the machine and work area after completion of the job.
- Carry out basic operator-level machine cleaning and lubrication where applicable.
- Report machine breakdowns and maintenance requirements immediately.
- Do not undertake unauthorized machine repairs or adjustments.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
