Objective:

- Support the mechanical design and development of low voltage switches, socket, plates, accessories and other wiring devices products like Flexi cord, spike guards, plugs, adaptors etc.

- Ensure robust, innovative, and high-quality mechanical designs that meet market demands, compliance standards, and manufacturability.

Key responsibilities:

- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components for switches, sockets, and wiring devices, ensuring reliability, safety, and user-friendly operation.

- Collaborate with R&D; teams to develop prototypes and validate product performance, durability, and lifecycle requirements.

- Conduct design reviews to evaluate feasibility, manufacturability, cost optimization, and potential risks.

- Ensure compliance with applicable standards and certifications such as BIS, IEC, RoHS, CE, and other regulatory requirements for wiring devices.

- Work closely with industrial design teams to enhance product aesthetics, ergonomics, and customer appeal.

- Coordinate with tooling and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility, efficient mold development, and smooth production processes.





- Incorporate customer and market feedback in product improvements and new product development initiatives.

- Explore new materials, finishes, and manufacturing techniques to improve product performance, safety, and cost efficiency.

- Support testing and validation activities, including mechanical endurance, thermal performance, and safety compliance.

- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.

Experience and Qualification:

- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development of switches, socket, plates, accessories and other wiring devices products like Flexi cord, spike guards, plugs, adaptors etc.

- .Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

- Proficiency in mechanical design tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar software.

- Experience with plastic and metal components, tooling, and injection molding processes.

- Knowledge of lifecycle management and current product introduction (NPI) in mechanical design.
