The CFBC Boiler Erection Foreman will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the complete site erection and installation activities of Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) Boilers. The role involves execution of boiler structural and pressure-part erection works in accordance with approved engineering drawings, erection sequences, quality requirements, and site safety procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

Supervise and execute CFBC Boiler erection activities, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings, method statements and erection procedures.

Supervise erection and assembly of Boiler Structural Steel, including columns, beams, platforms, walkways, staircases, bracings and supporting structures.

Coordinate installation and alignment of major Boiler Pressure Parts, including:

Steam Drum

Water Wall / Membrane Wall Panels

Boiler Bank / Generating Bank

Headers

Superheater & Superheater Headers

Economizer & Economizer Headers

Downcomers and Riser Connections

Other pressure-part components as applicable.

Supervise erection and installation of CFBC-specific equipment and components, including Cyclone/Separator, Loop Seal, Return Leg, Fuel Feeding System, Ash Handling connections and associated ducting.

Coordinate installation of bed material/refractory-related components, furnace internals and refractory support arrangements as per approved drawings and specifications.

Supervise erection of air and flue-gas ducting, expansion joints, dampers, supporting structures and associated equipment.

Ensure proper level, alignment, elevation,



orientation and fit-up of structural and pressure-part components before welding/bolting.

Coordinate with welding, fitting, rigging and crane teams for protected and sequential erection activities.

Monitor lifting, shifting and positioning of heavy boiler components using cranes, hydra/farana, chain blocks, winches and other lifting equipment.

Ensure proper preparation and inspection of fit-up, welding joints, supports and connections before offering the work for QA/QC inspection.

Coordinate with QA/QC engineers, client engineers and project/site management for inspection, clearance and rectification of erection-related issues.

Read and interpret GA drawings, fabrication drawings, pressure-part drawings, structural drawings, P&IDs; and erection drawings.

Maintain erection sequence and daily work planning to achieve project milestones.

Allocate manpower and equipment according to work priorities and site requirements.

Conduct Toolbox Talks / pre-job briefings and ensure compliance with site safety procedures, work permits and lifting safety requirements.

Monitor scaffolding, working-at-height activities, lifting operations and housekeeping at the work front.

Identify site constraints, material shortages,



drawing discrepancies and erection difficulties and coordinate timely resolution.

Maintain daily progress records and report manpower, equipment utilization, material requirements and work progress to the site engineer/project management.

Coordinate with piping, electrical, instrumentation, refractory, insulation and other disciplines wherever required for integrated boiler erection.

Ensure proper preservation and protection of installed boiler components during subsequent construction activities.

Support hydro test preparation, pressure-part inspection, flushing/blowing preparation and pre-commissioning activities as applicable to the project.

Ensure all erection activities are completed safely, accurately and within the planned schedule.

Required Experience & Skills

Strong hands-on experience in CFBC/AFBC/industrial boiler erection and structural erection.

Practical experience in boiler pressure-part erection and structural assembly.

Good knowledge of boiler erection sequence, rigging, lifting and alignment activities.

Ability to read and understand engineering and erection drawings.

Experience in supervising fitters, welders, riggers, gas cutters and helpers.

Knowledge of industrial construction quality and safety practices.

Ability to coordinate effectively with Site Engineers, QA/QC, Safety, Client and Subcontractor teams.

Experience in large industrial projects such as Power Plant, Steel Plant, Cement Plant or Process Industry will be preferred.
