Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Environmental Health Safety Engineer role based in Ludhiana.

The Environmental Health Safety

Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and standards in line with local regulations and company guidelines. The role involves conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of facilities and processes, as well as identifying hazards and recommending corrective actions. The engineer will coordinate training programs on occupational health, safety practices, and environmental compliance for employees and contractors. Additional responsibilities include monitoring incident reporting, supporting accident investigations, maintaining EHS documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental sustainability.

Key Area of Responsibility:

- Conduct induction training on Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) for newly joined employees.




- Ensure timely reporting of all accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases.
- Implement corrective actions for accidents, incidents, and near-misses to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure implementation and compliance with HSE-related systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure healthy & working condition of HSE facilities such as Fire Pump House, Fire Alarm Panel, Fire Extinguishers, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and Ambulance checks.
- Ensure compliance with the Work Permit System (Height Work, Hot Work, LOTO, etc.) and verify safety precautions as per Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Conduct JHA for every non-routine activity before initiating work.
- Deliver daily toolbox talks before the start of any activity.
- Provide training to employees on relevant Safety, Workplace and health topics such as Fire Drill, Chemical Spillage Drill etc.
- Ensure proper management and disposal of hazardous waste generated at the plant- Preparation of Manifest.
- Carry out regular plant safety inspections as per SOP.
- Ensure maintenance and upkeep of all HSE-related equipment.
- Maintain and replenish first aid boxes across all departments monthly.
- Organize emergency mock drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
- Maintain all records and data as per ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Conduct third-party safety audits as per IS 14489 and ensure compliance with observations.
- Enforce HSE regulations, promote safe working practices, and address hazards promptly.
- Evaluate, maintain, and ensure proper use of PPE; develop PPE matrix for various operations.
- Demonstrate flexibility and ability to respond quickly to changing job demands.
- Coordinate with third parties or vendors for environmental parameter monitoring as per GPCB consent requirements.
