Role Description The Engineer Trainee Technical Mech role is a full time, on-site position based in Chennai. The trainee will support mechanical engineering activities related to conveyor systems and material handling equipment, including assisting in installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting. Day-to-day responsibilities may include working with senior engineers on project execution, preparing technical reports and documentation, and participating in field visits to customer sites.





The role also involves learning and applying company standards, safety practices, and quality procedures while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The trainee is expected to develop practical skills, gain exposure to Thejo’s engineering solutions, and grow into a more independent technical role over time.

Qualifications

- Educational background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Foundational mechanical skills: Understanding of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and material handling concepts.
- Technical and analytical skills: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, perform basic calculations, and support problem-solving in maintenance and installation activities.
- Software and tools: Familiarity with MS Office; exposure to CAD tools (such as AutoCAD or similar) is an advantage.
- Field and safety orientation: Willingness to work in industrial and mining environments, with a strong focus on safety and compliance with site procedures.
- Communication and teamwork: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, operations, and customer teams.
- Learning mindset: Strong interest in developing a career in conveyor care and industrial engineering services, with readiness to travel to project and customer locations as required.
