Job Overview

As an Embedded Firmware Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded firmware for our hardware products. You will work closely with hardware engineers to ensure the firmware interfaces effectively with the underlying hardware components. This role requires robust expertise in low-level programming, hardware interaction, and debugging.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and optimize embedded firmware for microcontrollers and other embedded platforms.
- Design and write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code in languages like C, C++, or assembly.
- Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with hardware components, such as sensors, processors, memory, and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
- Implement device drivers, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and other low-level system software.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in embedded systems.
- Participate in the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Conduct performance and resource usage optimization on firmware.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure firmware meets system requirements and specifications.
- Develop unit tests and test benches to validate firmware functionality.
- Document firmware development processes, design specifications, and testing procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in embedded firmware development.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming.
- Strong understanding of microcontrollers (ARM, PIC, AVR, etc.), and their peripherals.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and bare-metal firmware development.
- Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG).
- Experience with communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, or Ethernet.
- Familiarity with embedded development environments (e.g., STM32 Cube, Eclipse, Keil, etc.).
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with power optimization and low-power embedded systems.
- Familiarity with hardware design and schematics.
- Experience with wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee).
- Knowledge of bootloaders and low-level initialization routines.
- Exposure to safety-critical systems (e.g., automotive, medical, aerospace).
