Role Overview

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and validate low-level embedded software and device drivers for microcontrollers and embedded systems. You will work closely with hardware, system, and integration teams to translate customer requirements into robust, reliable software solutions.

The role involves developing MCU peripheral drivers, debugging hardware-software interactions, supporting board bring-up and system integration, and contributing to the software architecture of embedded products.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze and understand requirements; convert customer requirements into detailed software design
- Design software solutions according to the requirements
- Designing, implementing and performing unit verifications like static analysis, code reviews, and unit tests
- Develop and maintain low-level device drivers for microcontrollers and embedded platforms
- Work with microcontrollers and embedded platforms such as ARM Cortex-M, STM32, NXP, TI, Microchip, Renesas, or similar
- Handle peripherals and interfaces such as ADC, DAC, PWM, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, DMA, GPIO, timers, interrupts, memory, and communication interfaces
- Analyze hardware schematics and datasheets for driver implementation
- Perform board bring-up, debugging, and performance optimization
- Debug integration issues at board, firmware, and system level
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system integration
- Follow coding standards, software quality practices, and static-analysis guidelines

Required Skills

- Strong C programming and debugging skills are a must.




- Experience with embedded communication protocols such as CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, RS485, Ethernet, or similar
- Robust understanding of I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, peripheral interfaces, and device-driver development is a must.
- Good understanding of microcontrollers, embedded architectures, and peripherals
- Experience with debugging tools such as JTAG/SWD, GDB, Lauterbach, J-Link, or similar
- Experience with software development and tracking tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket, Jira, or similar
- Able to read/understand electrical schematics, and debug hardware problems
- Excellent system-level problem-solving, design review, and cross-domain collaboration skills.
- Willing to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Good to have Skills

- Prior experience with STM32, NXP, TI, Microchip, Renesas, ESP32, ARM Cortex-M, or similar controllers is a plus
- Good to have knowledge of RTOS concepts, embedded software architecture, BSP, middleware, or communication stacks
- Familiarity with communication protocols, device diagnostics, bootloaders, or firmware-update mechanisms
- Familiarity with embedded development tools, IDEs, debuggers, configuration tools, and build systems
- Experience with ARM toolchains and embedded development environments
- Experience with Scripting languages (Python, Shell scripts)
- Exposure to software development processes, quality practices, coding standards, or safety-critical development is a plus
- Exposure to secure firmware, bootloaders, firmware flashing, embedded security, or secure communication is a plus
