Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Driver role based in Chennai. The EMS Driver will be responsible for safely operating ambulances to transport patients, medical staff, and equipment between healthcare facilities or emergency locations, following established routes and emergency protocols. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining vehicle cleanliness and readiness, performing basic vehicle checks, ensuring all medical equipment and supplies are properly secured, and responding promptly to dispatch instructions.

The role also involves assisting medical personnel during patient loading and unloading,



adhering to traffic and safety regulations, and documenting trip details as required. The EMS Driver is expected to interact respectfully with patients, families, and hospital staff, supporting a calm and professional environment during emergency and non-emergency transport.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong defensive driving skills and experience operating ambulances or similar emergency vehicles.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of emergency services procedures and familiarity with basic emergency response protocols.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional communication skills for coordinating with dispatch, medical personnel, and patients.
- Candidates should possess excellent customer service skills to ensure respectful, empathetic, and non-discriminatory interactions with patients and families.
- Valid commercial or qualified driving license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience in healthcare transport, EMS, or hospital support services is an advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
- Basic knowledge of local routes in and around Chennai and ability to navigate efficiently under time-sensitive conditions.
- Physical ability to assist with patient transfer activities, including lifting and maneuvering stretchers with appropriate technique.
- Commitment to safety, hygiene protocols, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
