Some of the world's leading medical-technology companies use SurgeonsLab systems in their R&D; labs and in front of their customers. We design and build the electronics behind calibration rigs, test systems, and demonstration platforms. We are looking for engineers who can take a loosely defined requirement and turn it into a working, tested, documented prototype, quickly and without wasting money.

ABOUT SURGEONSLAB: SurgeonsLab is an R&D; and manufacturing company. We design and build electronic, electromechanical, and fluidic systems for global medical-technology companies. Our products are not regulated medical devices, but we build them to the quality standards our clients expect.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 12 MONTHS: You will have taken real systems from a written requirement through schematic, PCB, firmware, a validated prototype and translated into a product. Each will have a test protocol anyone on the team can run, and a clear record of what every iteration cost and what it taught us.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

- Requirements to architecture: turn a client need into measurable specifications, block diagrams, component choices, and trade-offs before design begins.
- Schematic and PCB design: 2–4 layer boards in KiCad, Altium, or similar, following IPC-2221 and IPC-7351 practice. Prepare Gerbers, BOMs, and assembly drawings, and work with PCB fabricators.
- Fast, smart sourcing: source components through DigiKey, Mouser, LCSC, element14, and local distributors. Check lifecycle,



stock, lead time, landed cost into India, and second-source alternates.
- Board bring-up and firmware: bring up and debug boards, and write firmware in C/C++ for STM32, ESP32, or similar (GPIO, ADC, PWM, UART, I2C, SPI, sensor, motor, and pump control, calibration routines).
- Test protocols: write repeatable protocols that state what is measured, with which instrument, against which limit, and how results are recorded.
- Cost-aware iteration: plan each design spin around what it must prove, combine changes, prove fixes on the bench before re-spinning, and track cost per iteration.
- Documentation: version-controlled design files (Git), revision logs, test reports, and design-for-assembly feedback to the build team.

MUST HAVE

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in ECE, EEE, E&I;, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- At least one PCB you designed that was fabricated (academic, personal, or professional).
- Firmware you wrote that ran on real hardware, not simulation only.
- Hands-on use of a multimeter, oscilloscope, bench power supply, and soldering station.
- Professional English:



able to write transparent test reports and speak with international engineering teams.
- Able to work on-site in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Candidates willing to relocate are welcome.

PREFERRED

- Experience in product development, electronics manufacturing (EMS), robotics, instrumentation, lab equipment, or test and measurement.
- SMD soldering and hot-air rework.
- Python for test automation or data logging.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, ISO 9001, ESD control (ANSI/ESD S20.20), or safety and EMC concepts (IEC 61010-1, IEC 61326-1).
- Awareness of how ISO 13485 medical-device quality systems work, since our clients operate under them.

CERTIFICATIONS (A PLUS, NOT MANDATORY)

- IPC CID (Certified Interconnect Designer)
- IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610 (CIS/CIT)
- IPC-7711/7721 rework and repair
- ESD control training (ANSI/ESD S20.20 or IEC 61340-5-1)
- ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 awareness or internal auditor
- Embedded or firmware certifications (ARM, STM32, or similar)

LANGUAGES

English is required. Tamil or other languages are welcome but not mandatory.
