- Design and implement the PostgreSQL (cloud) and SQLite (local kiosk cache) schemas for product catalog, transactions and kiosk telemetry.
- Build backend logic converting RFID tag-read and weighing-scale events into verified cart additions, including exception handling.
- Integrate a payment gateway SDK (Razorpay or PayU, sandbox credentials) covering UPI, card and wallet payment initiation, status polling, and receipt generation.
- Integrate Payment Terminal Connect to support physical card-terminal payments, including terminal connection, payment request initiation, transaction status handling, and receipt/transaction confirmation.
- Build robust handling for payment edge cases - gateway timeout, network drop mid-transaction, duplicate payment attempts - so the kiosk never double-charges.
- Design and implement the offline-mode local cache and queued, idempotent transaction sync so no transaction is lost or double-counted on reconnect, including conflict resolution when local and cloud state disagree.
- Build backend support for the Store Management Dashboard: live kiosk status, exception/alert feed, transaction log and filters, and the POC summary report used as exit-criteria evidence.




- Participate in feature-level functional testing and bug-fix cycles ahead of the internal demo.
- Document the backend API and hardware integration points implemented, for reuse in the Pilot phase.
- 5+ years professional backend development experience, with strong ASP.NET Core (or equivalent .NET) REST API experience.
- Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and embedded/local data stores (SQLite) for offline-first application design.
- Demonstrated experience integrating third-party payment gateways (UPI/card processors) including handling asynchronous callbacks and idempotency.
- Practical experience designing systems that must reconcile offline/local state with a central cloud source of truth.
- Comfortable working against a hardware-driven event model (sensor/reader input triggering application logic), even without deep hardware expertise personally.
- Prior experience with Windows-based, web, and/or POS (point-of-sale) application development is a strong plus - directly relevant to the kiosk environment.
- Experience with retail, checkout, or transaction-processing systems specifically.
- Familiarity with Azure-hosted services (API Management, Azure SQL/PostgreSQL, Azure Monitor).
