Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring dialysis machines, preparing patients for dialysis treatment, and ensuring secure and effective dialysis procedures under the supervision of a nephrologist and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dialysis machines and equipment before each session
- Perform hemodialysis procedures as per prescribed protocol
- Monitor patients’ vital signs before, during, and after dialysis
- Observe patients for complications and report abnormalities immediately
- Maintain proper infection control and sterilization standards
- Ensure correct dialyzer reuse and documentation (where applicable)
- Maintain dialysis machines and troubleshoot minor technical issues
- Administer anticoagulants/medications as prescribed (if authorized)
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs
- Provide emotional support and basic education to patients and attendants
- Follow safety protocols and hospital policies at all times
