Medark Hospital is looking for a skilled and responsible Dialysis Technician to join our healthcare team.
The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient delivery of haemodialysis services, operating and maintaining dialysis equipment, monitoring patients during dialysis, and maintaining strict infection-control and safety standards.
The ideal candidate should have valuable technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare the dialysis machine, dialysis station and required equipment before each session.
Perform machine checks and ensure proper functioning before starting dialysis.
Prepare and prime the extracorporeal circuit as per protocol.
Assist in initiating, monitoring and terminating haemodialysis under appropriate clinical supervision.
Monitor patients' vital signs and clinical condition throughout dialysis.
Identify and immediately report complications or abnormal patient conditions.
Assist in managing dialysis-related emergencies according to hospital protocols.
Monitor blood flow, dialysis parameters, pressures, UF and other machine readings.
Maintain accurate dialysis records and patient documentation.
Ensure proper identification of patients before starting dialysis.
Follow strict infection prevention and control protocols.
Maintain proper disinfection and cleaning of dialysis machines and dialysis stations.
Handle dialysis consumables, disposables and equipment appropriately.
Maintain adequate stock of dialysis supplies and report shortages.
Follow proper biomedical waste segregation and disposal procedures.
Ensure safe handling and disposal of needles and other sharps.
Assist nursing and medical staff during dialysis-related procedures when required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dialysis unit.
Perform routine checks and basic troubleshooting of dialysis equipment.
Immediately report equipment malfunction to the appropriate authority/biomedical team.
Follow hospital SOPs, dialysis-unit protocols and patient-safety standards.
Participate in quality-control activities, audits and training programs.
Qualifications
Diploma / B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology / Dialysis Technician course from a recognized institution.
Relevant registration/certification as applicable.
Previous experience in a hospital dialysis unit preferred.
Good knowledge of haemodialysis procedures and dialysis equipment.
