Job Summary

We are looking for a Detail Engineer R&R; (Revamp & Retrofit) with strong experience in design and detailed engineering of Boilers, Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery systems and other thermal equipment.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Revamp, Retrofit, Modification and Upgradation projects, along with expertise in thermal calculations, equipment selection, engineering drawings, vendor coordination and site support.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute detailed engineering for Revamp & Retrofit (R&R;) projects involving Boilers, Heaters, Waste Heat Recovery Boilers and heat recovery systems.
- Design and engineering of solid, oil and gas-fired boilers/heaters and associated thermal systems.
- Review and prepare manufacturing drawings, GA drawings, P&IDs; and GATP.
- Perform thermal calculations, heat transfer calculations and equipment sizing/selection.
- Select rotary equipment, valves, instrumentation and other bought-out items.
- Prepare and release Bill of Materials (BOM), MTO and engineering documents.
- Review vendor offers, technical specifications and vendor drawings and provide engineering approvals/comments.
- Provide engineering support for procurement and vendor finalization.
- Support post-site execution, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
- Attend customer/vendor/site visits and resolve technical issues related to retrofit and revamp projects.
- Participate in technical discussions with internal teams, customers, vendors and site teams.




- Identify opportunities for standardization of engineering variants and reduction of engineering effort.
- Manage engineering change control and incorporate design modifications as required.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Boiler, Heater and Thermal Equipment Design.
- Hands-on experience in Revamp, Retrofit, Modification, Upgradation or Replacement projects.
- Knowledge of Waste Heat Recovery / WHRB / Heat Recovery Systems.
- Good understanding of Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Engineering.
- Knowledge of Combustion Technology, Combustors and Fuel-Fired Systems.
- Experience in Thermal Calculations and Equipment Selection.
- Positive knowledge of P&ID;, GA and Manufacturing/Fabrication Drawings.
- Experience in BOM/MTO preparation and engineering documentation.
- Exposure to Vendor Drawing Review and Technical Offer Evaluation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Advanced Excel and MS Office.
- Experience in site visits, troubleshooting and post-installation support.

Candidate Profile
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–12 years of relevant experience in Boiler, Heater, Thermal Equipment, WHR or related engineering.
- Candidates with experience in Revamp & Retrofit / R&R; / Modification / Upgradation projects will be preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Design, Procurement, Projects, Site, Vendors and Customers.
- Willingness to travel to customer, vendor and project sites as required.
