Role Purpose To prepare and coordinate design drawings for Substation and UGC projects, converting approved engineering inputs into accurate, coordinated, and constructible drawings.
Candidate shall be capable of independently preparing drawing packages with limited supervision and coordinating interfaces with engineering and other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical cable routing layouts for substations such as cable trench, cable tray, duct bank, and underground cable routing drawings.
- Develop cable routing considering equipment locations, accessibility, segregation, and constructability.
- Prepare AIS/GIS equipment layout and associated cable trench/ entry/exit layout drawings.
- Prepare road crossing, underground utility crossing, and cable installation details.
- Develop cable route plans, trench sections, joint bay, and link box layouts for EHV UGC projects under engineering guidance.
- Prepare GIS/outdoor termination and cable interface drawings.
- Prepare Earthing Layout along with necessary interface with civil & structural
- Prepare lighting and small power layouts and wiring diagrams.
- Prepare drawing-based quantity take-offs.
- Prepare IFC, revised and as-built drawings.
Coordination & Deliverables
- Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Structural, Telecom and Survey disciplines.
- Review and incorporate vendor, client, and engineering comments.
- Identify clashes and drawing-interface issues.
- Prepare IFC, revised and as-built drawings.
- Maintain drawing quality, revision control, and company CAD standards.
Software Skills
- AutoCAD – Essential
- MicroStation – Preferred/ Essential if AutoCAD platform is unaware
- MS Office / PDF markup tools
- Exposure to 3D tools is an advantage
