About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client's team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it ideal for professionals seeking a dynamic role in manufacturing design.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and optimize manufacturing designs for precision components using FreeCAD, an open-source parametric 3D modeling software. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating technical specifications into detailed 3D models and technical drawings that are ready for production. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality assurance is essential to ensure designs are feasible, efficient, and meet all quality standards.

Qualifications





- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design is essential.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.

- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Familiarity with CAD file formats and data exchange protocols between different CAD systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The Design Engineer will be responsible for a range of key activities, including:

- Designing and modeling mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are feasible for production and meet technical requirements.
- Modifying and improving existing designs based on feedback from production and engineering teams to enhance performance and manufacturability.
- Generating comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly instructions.




- Conducting design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges early and proposing effective solutions to mitigate risks.
- Ensuring all designs conform to industry standards and best practices for quality and safety.
- Maintaining organized records of all design files and documentation for easy access and future reference.
