About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client's team on a remote basis. This is a full-time position ideal for individuals passionate about mechanical design and manufacturing processes. The role involves utilizing FreeCAD to develop precise 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing components.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering, to ensure that designs are not only innovative but also feasible for manufacturing. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of industrial components, supporting the company's commitment to quality and efficiency.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in mechanical design principles and hands-on experience with FreeCAD. Proficiency in creating detailed 3D models and parametric designs is essential. Candidates should have a positive understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.

Knowledge of GD&T; standards is required to ensure designs meet quality and precision requirements. Familiarity with CAD file formats and data exchange protocols will facilitate smooth collaboration across different software systems. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred,



along with relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

- Design and model mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications, ensuring precision and functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to assess design feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review and modify existing designs based on feedback from production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to optimize performance and ease of manufacturing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs, and design records to support production and quality control.
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges, proposing innovative solutions to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated with industry standards and best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
