About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled Manufacturing Design Engineer with proficiency in FreeCAD to join our client's creative team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, providing an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about mechanical design and manufacturing processes. The role involves developing precise and efficient manufacturing designs, translating technical specifications into detailed 3D models, and creating comprehensive technical drawings essential for production.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure that designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and working with GD&T; standards.




- Knowledge of CAD file formats and proficiency in data exchange between different CAD systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to modify designs based on feedback and testing results.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

- Designing and modeling mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess design feasibility, identify potential manufacturing challenges, and develop innovative solutions.
- Continuously modifying and improving existing designs based on feedback from production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to optimize performance and manufacturability.
- Generating detailed technical documentation, including drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing processes.
- Conducting design reviews to evaluate potential manufacturing issues, propose modifications,



and validate design integrity.
- Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality policies.
- Maintaining organized records of design iterations, technical files, and project documentation for future reference and audits.
