Job Purpose: The candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling engineering design for a material handling equipments manufacturing company with use of In-depth knowledge of Solid Works software
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for: In-depth knowledge of Solid Works software
- Assisting production team / engineering staff in the design and development of components.
- Interfacing with the engineering staff effectively to ensure the form,
fit and function of designs while also working with the management to ensurecost effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.
- Product Cost Analysis skills.
- Collaborating with the engineering staff to produce design sketches and drawings and make necessary changes in accordance with applicable standards.
- Preparing technical designs of productsin accordance to the technical specifications received from clients and sales team.
- Accurately incorporating welding symbols and tolerances into design drawings.
- Reviewing and verifying design drawings and othertechnical documentation preparedby others to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit and function.
- Using specialized software to create models and drawings of products.
- Calculating factor of safety for every model.
- Researching new materials and methods of development
- Preparing BOM for all the products
- Ensuring components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
- Considering cost effectiveness and safety of new designs
Requisite Skills:
- 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design
- In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks software
- Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Understanding of current cutting tool technology
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively.
Desired Skills:
- Good Verbal & Written communication.
- Proactive.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field
