Role & responsibilities

- 3D CAD Modeling & detailing: Design complex 3D assembly models and complete manufacturing drawings for heavy-duty welding fixtures using Creo Parametric.

- Hydraulic System Integration: Select and integrate hydraulic cylinders, power packs, valves, manifolds, and sequential routing systems to ensure balanced, reliable, and fail-secure workpiece clamping.

- Clamping & Locating Strategy: Define precise locating (3-2-1 principle) and structural clamping sequences to avoid heat distortion and maintain critical tolerances during robotic or manual MIG/TIG welding.

- Engineering Calculations: Perform structural calculations, finite element analysis (FEA) for stress and deflection, and compute required clamping forces based on fluid pressures.

- DFM / DFA Compliance: Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) principles, ensuring easy access for welding guns, ergonomic loading,



and fast sensor positioning.

- GD&T; & Documentation: Apply advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) to manufacturing prints and create Bill of Materials (BOM), operation manuals, and pneumatic/hydraulic Schematics.

- Testing & Commissioning: Support toolroom assembly, try-outs, fixture alignment checks, and resolve design modifications during initial production trial runs.

- Minimum 3+ years of core experience explicitly designing welding fixtures (manual, pneumatic, or hydraulic), ideally in the automotive or heavy engineering sectors.

- Software Skills: PTC CREO
- Deep understanding of hydraulic circuits, pressure calculations, welding processes (MIG/TIG/Spot), metallurgy, and geometric tolerancing.
