Primary Responsibilities A Communication Executive is responsible for developing and managing the studio’s communication, content, and brand presence across digital, print and professional platforms. The role involves translating the practice’s architectural work, design thinking and project narratives into clear, engaging and visually compelling communication. This includes social media, website content, publications, award submissions, project documentation, presentations, press communication and brand collateral.
The role requires a strong understanding of architecture and design, excellent writing and storytelling abilities, design sensibility, and close coordination with architects and designers to communicate the studio’s work accurately and effectively.
Roles:
- Develop and execute communication strategies that effectively represent the studio’s design philosophy, projects, people and initiatives.
- Create engaging content for social media, website, newsletters, presentations, brochures, portfolios and other communication platforms.
- Develop project narratives, descriptions and stories by understanding the design intent, concept, context, process and outcome of architectural and interior projects.
- Coordinate closely with architects and designers to collect project information, drawings, images, photographs, design concepts and other relevant material required for communication.
- Develop and edit project case studies, architectural narratives, project profiles and other editorial content.
- Plan and manage social media content calendars, ensuring regular, relevant and consistent communication across platforms.
- Create content for project launches, studio updates, events, announcements, team initiatives and other brand-related activities.
- Support the preparation and submission of architecture and design awards, including project narratives, written submissions, image selection, project information and submission documentation.
- Identify relevant architectural publications, media platforms, awards, competitions and editorial opportunities and coordinate submissions and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with photographers, videographers, graphic designers and external agencies for project photography, films and other communication requirements.
- Develop and maintain the studio’s website and online project portfolio, including uploading and updating project information, images and written content through WordPress.
- Create and coordinate presentations, brochures, portfolios, capability documents and other brand communication material.
- Maintain consistency in the studio’s visual identity, tone of voice, typography, graphic language and overall brand communication.
- Apply design thinking to communication outputs and ensure that content is not only informative but also visually coherent and aligned with the studio’s design sensibility.
- Support media outreach and communication with publications, journalists, editors and other relevant industry platforms.
- Maintain an organised archive of project photographs, drawings, descriptions, publications, awards, press coverage and other communication assets.
- Track and document project features, publications, awards, media coverage and other external recognition received by the studio.
- Support communication for exhibitions, lectures, events, talks, competitions and other professional initiatives involving the studio.
- Proofread and edit all external communication to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and professional quality.
- Stay updated on architecture, design, publishing,
communication and digital media trends and identify opportunities to strengthen the studio’s visibility and positioning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Architecture or a related field.
- 3–5 years of professional experience in communication, content, branding, marketing, publishing or a related field, preferably within architecture, design, interiors or creative industries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong editing and proofreading abilities.
- Strong content writing, storytelling and editorial skills, with the ability to communicate architectural and design ideas clearly.
- Good understanding of architecture, design thinking, visual communication and creative processes.
- Strong design sensibility and ability to create visually coherent communication material.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign – and Canva.
- Experience managing social media platforms, content calendars and digital communication.
- Working knowledge of WordPress and website content management.
- Experience in preparing award submissions, publications, project case studies and press material is preferred.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple communication requirements and deadlines.
- Robust interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with architects, designers, photographers, consultants and external agencies.
- Detail-oriented with a creative, proactive and research-driven approach.
- Ability to understand complex design information and translate it into clear, engaging and accessible narratives.
- Interest in architecture, interiors, culture, design and the broader creative industry is strongly preferred.
