Location: Bengaluru

JOB PURPOSE The Deputy Director (e-Learning & Technical) will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of e-learning systems, digital content development, and technical coordination for Online programmes.

The position will ensure academic integrity, technical robustness, learner-centric delivery, and compliance with applicable UGC-DEB regulations through effective management of the Learning Management System (LMS) and digital learning ecosystem.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

- Strong understanding of online pedagogy and instructional design
- Hands-on expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of e-content standards, SCORM, multimedia tools, and learning analytics
- Strong leadership, coordination, and project management skills
- Valuable understanding of UGC-DEB regulations and compliance requirements for Online education
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

CRITICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

A. e-Learning & Digital Content Development

- Coordinate the development of UGC-DEB-compliant e-learning modules.
- Ensure alignment of digital content with the curriculum framework, credit structure, and learning outcomes.
- Maintain academic and technical quality benchmarks for online content.
- Coordinate with faculty, instructional designers, multimedia teams, and subject experts.

B. Learning Management System (LMS) Management




- Oversee the deployment, customization, integration, and maintenance of the LMS for Online programmes.
- Ensure seamless integration of:
- Course content
- Assessments and evaluations
- Learner analytics
- Progress tracking
- Learner support systems
- Ensure LMS processes comply with applicable UGC-DEB learner support, monitoring, and reporting requirements.

C. Technical Coordination
- Facilitate coordination between academic departments, multimedia production teams, LMS teams, and IT infrastructure teams.
- Supervise the end-to-end workflow for digital module production, quality assurance, and deployment.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues affecting online programme delivery.

D. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UGC-DEB regulations and institutional quality assurance mechanisms.
- Coordinate documentation and support for audits, inspections, reviews, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor learner engagement, LMS performance, content effectiveness, and overall digital learning quality.
- Identify and implement improvements in online learning processes

E. Faculty & Staff Capacity Building
- Conduct training and orientation programmes for faculty and staff on:
- Online teaching tools
- LMS usage
- Digital pedagogy
- Online assessment practices
- Digital content development




- Promote the adoption of innovative teaching-learning technologies.
- Support faculty in effective delivery of Online programmes.

F. Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and supervise the Technical Manager and Technical Assistant(s).
- Define workflows, responsibilities, timelines, and performance expectations.
- Ensure effective coordination and timely delivery of technical and e-learning initiatives.

SUPERVISION

- Direct Reports: Technical Manager, Technical Assistant(s)

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

- Ph.D. / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, e-Learning, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience in Online/Distance Education, e-Learning, LMS management, digital content development, or academic technology.
- Experience in managing Online programme operations and regulatory compliance will be preferred.
- Academic experience at Associate Professor level or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in leading e-learning, LMS, digital content, or academic technology teams will be an added advantage.
