Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Datadog SME with 8+ years of experience in application/infrastructure monitoring and observability, with strong expertise in the Datadog platform and Microsoft Azure .

The candidate will be responsible for onboarding Azure applications and infrastructure into Datadog, implementing observability solutions, configuring Datadog Agents and integrations, developing dashboards and monitors, and troubleshooting monitoring and telemetry issues across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Azure application observability onboarding into Datadog.
- Design and implement monitoring solutions using Datadog APM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Logs, Metrics, Dashboards, Monitors, Synthetics, and Service Catalog .
- Deploy and configure the Datadog Agent on Azure VMs, VM Scale Sets, AKS, and other supported workloads.
- Configure Datadog integrations for Azure services such as:
- Azure App Service
- AKS
- Azure Functions
- Azure VMs/VMSS
- Azure SQL
- Storage Accounts
- Service Bus
- Key Vault
- Application Gateway
- Azure Monitor
- Implement and troubleshoot the Azure Native Datadog Integration .
- Configure Azure diagnostic settings and telemetry forwarding to Datadog where applicable.
- Configure APM and distributed tracing for applications running on Azure.
- Implement log collection, parsing, enrichment, filtering,



and centralized observability.
- Develop enterprise dashboards, monitors, SLOs, alerts, and service-level observability.
- Establish consistent tagging standards such as env, service, team, application, and version.
- Troubleshoot missing metrics, logs, traces, Agent connectivity, integration failures, and telemetry gaps.
- Work with application, cloud, DevOps, SRE, and security teams during onboarding.
- Define observability standards and reusable onboarding patterns for multiple applications.
- Optimize Datadog ingestion and monitoring configuration to control unnecessary telemetry and cost.
- Support production incidents and perform root-cause analysis using Datadog telemetry.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, onboarding guides, and operational procedures.

- Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills.
- Valuable communication skills and ability to work with distributed teams.
