Role & responsibilities

- Manage and maintain production databases for smooth and reliable operations.

- Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and scaling.

- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability.

- Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.

- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access rights.

- Handle database backup, restoration, and recovery activities.

- Manage database replication, clustering, and high-availability environments.

- Troubleshoot locking, deadlocking, slow queries, and database failures.

- Ensure database security, maintenance, and compliance requirements.

- Review database backup, recovery, and maintenance plans.

- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams for database-related issues.

- Perform capacity planning and resource management.

- Prepare periodic database activity and performance reports.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, MCA,



or equivalent qualification.

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on Database Administration experience.

- Strong experience in MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or relevant database platforms.

- Good knowledge of SQL/T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and transactions.

- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.

- Experience in backup, restoration, recovery, replication, and clustering.

- Valuable understanding of database security, access management, and user/object administration.

- Experience in production database monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Knowledge of database capacity planning and high-availability environments.

- OEM/vendor certification for the proposed database solution is preferred.

- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
