Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Classical Dance Teacher to train students in Indian classical dance, develop their artistic abilities, and encourage discipline, creativity, confidence, and cultural appreciation. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of at least one recognized Indian classical dance form and the ability to teach students across different age groups.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct structured classical dance classes for students across different age groups.
- Teach fundamental techniques, posture, movements, expressions, rhythm, and choreography.
- Train students for school events, cultural programmes, competitions, annual day performances, and special occasions.
- Prepare age-appropriate dance routines and choreography.
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain discipline and ensure a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Introduce students to the cultural background, traditions, and significance of the dance form.
- Coordinate with teachers and school management for performances and cultural activities.
- Organize rehearsals and ensure students are adequately prepared for performances.
- Maintain appropriate records of student participation and progress.
- Participate in school activities, workshops,



and other co-curricular initiatives.
- Stay updated with new teaching methods and performance techniques while preserving the authenticity of the classical dance form.

Required Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma/Certification in Indian Classical Dance from a recognized institution.
- Strong proficiency in at least one classical dance form such as Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, etc.
- Relevant teaching or performance experience.
- Experience working with school-age children will be an advantage.
- Good communication and classroom-management skills.
- Strong stage presence and choreography skills.

- Passion for teaching and performing arts.
- Ability to work with beginners as well as advanced learners.
- Patience, creativity, and adaptability.
- Good coordination and teamwork.
- Ability to choreograph group performances.
- Robust understanding of rhythm, expressions, and traditional dance techniques.

Experience 2–5 years of relevant teaching/performance experience preferred.

Candidates with strong classical dance credentials and demonstrated performance expertise may also be considered.
