Role Summary
We are looking for a sharp, commercially minded Credit Manager with 48 years of experience in credit risk, collections, and Order-to-Cash (O2C) operations. The candidate role is to independently manage end to end O2C from Sales initiation, credit /return booking, to collection receipt and recording. He’ll have to manage third party for collection updates in system for certain customers.
He’ll have to manage the relevant customer portals for Quick commerce and e-commerce for data and reconciliation with customers and for follow up for collections and invoices management. The ideal candidate is a qualified Chartered Accountant with deep expertise in customer credit risk assessment, collections management, Quick Commerce and E-commerce reconciliations, and O2C process ownership. Proficiency in SAP, ZOHO, and Tally ERP is mandatory.
This senior role requires robust cross-functional coordination with the finance team, commercial teams, and customers, while directly managing a team of 4–6 credit and collections professionals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit Risk & Customer Onboarding
- Design and implement the credit risk assessment framework for new and existing customers.
- Evaluate customer creditworthiness using financial statements, trade references, bureau reports, and payment history.
- Set and review credit limits, credit periods, and payment terms for each customer segment.
- Maintain a live credit risk register and flag high-risk accounts proactively to sales and management.
- Ensure all customer onboarding follows the approved credit policy – no exceptions without documented approval.
- Periodically review and revalidate credit limits based on customer payment behaviour and business volume.
2. Collections Management & Customer Follow-up
- Own the end-to-end collections process – from invoice generation to cash receipt and reconciliation.
- Manage and drive the collections team to achieve monthly DSO and overdue reduction targets.
- Personally handle escalated collections for high-value or strategically important accounts.
- Implement structured follow-up cadences – automated reminders, calls, escalation matrices, and legal triggers.
- Negotiate payment plans and settlement terms for stressed or delinquent accounts in consultation with CFO.
- Prepare and circulate weekly overdue ageing reports to sales, management, and the finance team.
3. O2C Process Ownership
- Own the complete Order-to-Cash cycle – order acceptance, credit check, invoicing, dispatch, delivery, and collections.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the O2C cycle that delay invoicing, delivery confirmation, or payment.
- Coordinate with sales, logistics, and warehousing teams to ensure accurate and timely invoice generation.
- Implement O2C process controls to prevent revenue leakage, duplicate invoicing, and credit note misuse.
- Monitor O2C KPIs – DSO, collection efficiency ratio, overdue percentage, and dispute resolution TAT.
4. Quick Commerce & E-commerce Reconciliation
- Manage reconciliations for Quick Commerce platforms – Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and similar partners.
- Reconcile E-commerce marketplace settlements – Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and D2C platforms – against books.
- Match platform-level settlement reports with internal sales, returns, and fee deduction records on a weekly basis.
- Identify and chase short payments, fee overcharges, commission discrepancies, and unpaid claims from platforms.
- Build and maintain channel-wise reconciliation trackers with ageing of unresolved platform disputes.
- Coordinate with platform key account managers to resolve reconciliation gaps and credit note processing.
5. Software Proficiency –ZOHO (must), SAP & Tally ERP
- Operate AR and credit modules in SAP – customer master, credit management, dunning, and payment allocation.
- Manage AR workflows, customer invoicing, receipts, and ageing in ZOHO Books end-to-end.
- Handle collections and ledger management in Tally ERP – customer ledgers, bills receivable, and ageing reports.
- Extract and analyse collections data from all three platforms to generate consolidated MIS and dashboards.
- Identify automation and integration opportunities between ZOHO / SAP / Tally to reduce manual reconciliation work.
6. Finance Team Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with the accounts and finance team for accurate and timely posting of receipts, credit notes, and adjustments.
- Prepare monthly credit and collections MIS – overdue ageing, DSO trend, platform reconciliation status, and provisioning.
- Support the Finance Controller with bad debt provisioning calculations and write-off recommendations.
- Directly manage a team of 2–5 credit and collections professionals – assign targets, review performance, and appraise.
- Liaise with legal advisors for initiating recovery proceedings on accounts that have crossed the escalation threshold.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI – non-negotiable
- Hands-on proficiency in ZOHO Books (AR workflows), SAP (AR / credit module), and Tally ERP – ZOHO is mandatory
- Extensive experience managing Quick Commerce reconciliations – Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart or equivalent
- Proven E-commerce reconciliation experience – Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, or D2C marketplace settlements
- Complete, working understanding of the Order-to-Cash (O2C) cycle from order to cash receipt
- Demonstrated credit risk assessment experience – credit limit setting, risk scoring, and onboarding controls
- Strong collections management track record with measurable DSO improvement outcomes
- Ability to read and analyse financial statements for credit risk evaluation of customers

Qualifications & Education
- Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI – mandatory; no alternative qualification accepted for this role.
- 4–8 years of post-qualification experience in credit management, AR, collections, and O2C functions.
- Prior experience in a consumer goods, FMCG, D2C, or e-commerce company is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing Quick Commerce and E-commerce platform reconciliations at scale.
- Active, day-to-day proficiency across SAP, ZOHO Books, and Tally ERP is essential – not just theoretical knowledge.
