About PurpleBlue House
PurpleBlue House is a Brand Communication Studio for breakthrough innovators. We work with founders, organisations and innovation-led brands across strategy, design, storytelling, content and experiences.
We are looking for a Creative Strategist (Experiences & Community) who can think across brands, people, content and experiences.
Website: https://www.purplebluehouse.com/
A 50:50 role
50% Creative & Brand Strategy
50% Experiences, Community & Creator-led Initiatives
About the role
At its core, this is a creative strategy role.
You will work across an existing set of PBH clients, helping decode briefs, research categories and audiences, develop communication ideas, shape campaigns, write copy and translate strategy into strong creative outputs.
Alongside this, you will have a specific focus on experiences and community building, helping clients create formats that bring together the right creators, experts, customers and stakeholders around a brand.
That could mean developing a creator community for a financial brand, conceptualising an intimate brand experience, building a recurring community property, managing an influencer campaign end to end, or identifying a new way for a brand to engage with its audience.
We are looking for someone who can move comfortably between thinking and making things happen.
50%: Creative & Brand Strategy
You will work as a creative strategist across PBH's existing clients. This will include:
- Understanding client briefs, business objectives, audiences and communication challenges.
- Conducting category, competitor, consumer and cultural research.
- Contributing to brand strategy, positioning, communication strategy and campaign thinking.
- Translating strategy into strong creative ideas and communication routes.
- Developing campaign concepts, content ideas and communication frameworks.
- Writing and refining copy across social media, campaigns, websites, presentations, brand experiences and other communication touchpoints.
- Developing content pillars, editorial directions and storytelling formats.
- Creating and contributing to strategy decks, campaign presentations and client recommendations.
- Working closely with designers to translate ideas into solid visual and communication outputs.
- Participating in client conversations, workshops and brainstorming sessions.
- Looking beyond the brief to identify opportunities for brands to communicate more meaningfully.
- Supporting pitches and new-business thinking when required.
We are looking for someone who can research deeply, think clearly and write well.
50%: Experiences, Community & Creator Strategy
You will also help PBH and its clients build communities and create thoughtful experiences around their brands. This will include:
- Understanding which communities matter to a brand and why.
- Developing ideas for community-led experiences, creator engagements, workshops, intimate gatherings and other participatory formats.
- Helping create repeatable community properties and IPs for clients as well as PurpleBlue House.
- Thinking about the complete journey before, during and after an experience rather than treating it as a one-day event.
- Identifying relevant creators, experts, founders, professionals and other participants for different communities and initiatives.
- Curating guest and participant lists based on the objective of the experience.
- Managing outreach, invitations, RSVPs and participant communication where required.
- Working with specialist event execution partners to translate an experience idea effectively on ground.
- Owning the community, creator, content and participation layer while execution partners manage specialised production requirements.
- Building and maintaining relevant communities and networks for clients as well as PBH.
- Identifying ways to sustain engagement beyond a single experience.
Creator & Influencer Campaigns The role will also include end-to-end creator and influencer campaign management when relevant to a client's strategy.
- Researching and shortlisting creators based on relevance, credibility, audience and brand fit.
- Developing creator and influencer campaign ideas.
- Handling creator outreach and conversations.
- Negotiating commercials, deliverables, timelines and usage requirements.
- Developing and communicating creator briefs.
- Coordinating content development and approvals between creators, clients and internal teams.
- Maintaining campaign trackers, deliverables, commercials and timelines.
- Coordinating creator participation in brand experiences where relevant.
- Following through on documentation, payment coordination, reporting and campaign closure.
- Building meaningful creator networks for different client categories rather than starting from scratch for every campaign.
What are we looking for?
You should ideally have 2-3 years of relevant experience in creative strategy, brand strategy, content, advertising, communications, creator marketing, community building or a related field.
More importantly, you should:
- Be a strong researcher who enjoys understanding unfamiliar categories.
- Be able to move from research to insight to idea.
- Have a strong instinct for brands, communication and storytelling.
- Write confidently across formats and know the difference between writing copy and simply filling space.
- Be comfortable developing presentations and articulating ideas clearly.
- Understand digital and social content beyond trends and formats.
- Have curiosity about creators, communities, people and emerging behaviour.
- Be comfortable speaking with clients, creators and external partners.
- Have strong organisational skills and follow-through.
- Be able to manage multiple moving pieces without losing attention to detail.
- Take ownership of work from brief to final closure.
Prior experience in experiential marketing or influencer marketing is useful, but we are equally interested in candidates from brand strategy, advertising, content or communications backgrounds who have a strong instinct for community and experiences.
You might fit particularly well if
- You can spend the morning researching a category and the afternoon turning that research into a campaign idea.
- You enjoy both writing a sharp line and designing the larger idea behind it.
- You are interested in why people gather around brands, ideas and communities.
- You can identify the right creator without simply sorting a spreadsheet by follower count.
- You think about what a brand can do, not only what it can say.
- You can move comfortably between a strategy deck, a piece of copy, a creator brief and an on-ground experience.
- You like connecting seemingly unrelated ideas and turning them into something useful.
- You do not stop at ideation and are willing to take responsibility for execution.
What this role is not
This is not a traditional event-management role.
It is also not a role where experiences and community sit separately from brand strategy.
The role is about understanding a brand deeply enough to decide what it should say, what it should create, who it should bring together and how people should experience it.
That could result in a campaign, a piece of content, a creator collaboration, a community property, a workshop or an entirely new brand experience.
The medium will change. The strategic thinking behind it should not.
