Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Drawing Validation
· Review 2D engineering drawings for completeness, correctness, and clarity.
· Verify dimensions, tolerances, GD&T;, notes, symbols, and technical specifications.
· Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5, customer standards, and company drafting standards.
· Check material specifications, surface finishes, heat treatment, coatings, welding symbols, and special processes.
· Ensure consistency between drawings, BOMs, and engineering specifications.
· Review the drawing and ensure error-free engineering drawing with respect to manufacturability
3D CAD Model Validation
· Review 3D CAD models for design intent and modeling quality.
· Verify part geometry, feature tree structure, reference geometry, and parametric relationships.
· Validate assembly constraints, mating conditions, and positioning.
· Perform interference and clearance analysis.
· Check mass properties, center of gravity, and model accuracy where applicable.
· Ensure CAD models match released engineering drawings.
Manufacturing & Assembly Validation
· Assess manufacturability and assembly feasibility.
· Verify machining, fabrication, casting, sheet metal, composite, or additive manufacturing requirements.
· Ensure accessibility for machining, tooling, and inspection.
· Validate standard hardware and fastener selections.
· Identify potential production or assembly issues before release.
Change Management
· Review Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and revision updates.
· Verify implementation of approved design changes.
· Ensure consistency across CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and PLM systems.
Quality Assurance
