We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Lumber Yard Outside Sales Representative.

: We are seeking an experienced, motivated Outside Salesperson to join our team. We are looking for a sales professional who understands the building materials industry, values strong customer relationships, and is ready to grow an established and respected lumber and building materials business.

The ideal candidate will have previous lumber/building materials industry experience, with strong knowledge of doors and windows. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys developing relationships with contractors, builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals while providing knowledgeable, dependable service.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Generate sales with contractors, builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals.
- Promote and sell lumber, building materials, mouldings, doors, windows, and related products.
- Assist customers with product selection, specifications, pricing, and ordering.
- Prepare quotes and follow up on outstanding estimates and sales opportunities.
- Visit customer offices and job sites as needed to develop business and provide sales support.
- Work closely with inside sales, purchasing, delivery, and operations teams to ensure excellent customer service.
- Maintain knowledge of current products, manufacturers, pricing, and industry trends.
- Follow up with customers throughout the sales process to help ensure orders are accurate and delivered as expected.
- Build long-term customer relationships through professionalism, product knowledge,



responsiveness, and reliable service.
- Meet and work toward established sales and business-development goals.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in the lumber, building materials, construction, or related industry is strongly preferred.
- Door and window product knowledge is highly preferred.
- Previous outside sales or account management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of lumber, mouldings, millwork, decking, doors, windows, and other building materials is a plus.
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to identify current sales opportunities and develop new accounts.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with branch and company personnel.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, measurements, and product information is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the assigned sales territory.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company sales and ERP systems.

Compensation: This is a salary + commission position, offering an opportunity to increase earnings based on sales performance and account growth.
