Role & responsibilities
Position Summary: The Communications Specialist - Analyst II serves as an extension of the HR Communications team, supporting the development and execution of communications that help employees and leaders understand key HR programs, initiatives, priorities, and changes. This role is responsible for developing clear, audience-appropriate written communications, creating communication and cascade plans, and coordinating functional communication plans from initial request through delivery.
The Communications
Specialist partners closely with U.S.-based HR Communications, Talent Management, Leadership Development, and other HR stakeholders to translate business needs into thoughtful, coordinated communications. The role independently manages defined communication assignments and workstreams, maintains visibility to communication calendars and deadlines, and helps ensure messages are accurate, consistent, timely, and aligned to broader HR priorities. Success requires strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, project-management discipline, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across geographies and time zones. Responsibilities: HR Communications Development • Draft, edit, and coordinate written communications supporting HR programs, initiatives, processes, and priorities.
- Develop clear and concise communications for employee, leader, and HR audiences.
- Translate complex HR information into accessible, audience-appropriate messaging.
- Develop communications such as announcements, emails, leader messages, talking points, FAQs, toolkits, presentations, and related materials.
- Edit and proofread communications for clarity, consistency, accuracy, tone, grammar, and alignment with established standards.
- Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining message clarity and consistency. Communication &
- Cascade Planning • Develop communication plans for assigned HR initiatives, identifying audiences, messages, timing, channels, owners, and required deliverables.
- Build cascade plans that clarify how information should move through leaders, HR teams, managers, and employees.
- Develop leader and manager resources that support effective message cascade and reinforce consistent communication.
- Identify communication dependencies, sequencing requirements, and potential gaps before launch.
- Coordinate communication timing across multiple stakeholder groups to support an organized employee and leader experience.
- Track communication milestones and follow through on outstanding actions and approvals. Functional Communications Planning • Support development and maintenance of functional HR communication plans and calendars.
- Partner with HR stakeholders to understand upcoming initiatives, key dates, communication needs, and audience considerations.
- Help organize individual communication requests into a coordinated functional plan rather than isolated messages.
- Identify potential communication conflicts, overlaps, or opportunities to combine and streamline messaging.
- Maintain visibility to planned communications, key milestones, owners, and status.
- Support recurring planning discussions and communication reviews with U.S.-based partners. Stakeholder Partnership &
- Coordination • Serve as a day-to-day communications partner for assigned HR stakeholders and workstreams.
- Partner closely with the U.S.-based HR Communications team to ensure alignment with communication priorities, standards, and approaches.
- Gather information and requirements from subject-matter experts and translate them into effective communication deliverables.
- Manage review and approval cycles and ensure feedback is incorporated accurately and efficiently.
- Communicate status, risks, dependencies, and required decisions proactively.
- Build productive working relationships across HR functions, geographies, and organizational levels. Communication Operations &
- Project Management • Independently manage assigned communications from intake through drafting, review, approval, scheduling, and completion.
- Maintain communication trackers, calendars, templates, process documentation, and related resources.
- Manage multiple communication assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Establish and follow consistent workflows for intake, review, approval, and delivery.
- Identify process improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, consistency, or quality.
- Support development of templates, standards, and repeatable practices that enable scalable HR communications support. Education &
- Experience: • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Typically 4+ years of relevant professional experience in employee communications, internal communications, HR communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and editing professional communications for employee or internal audiences.
- Experience developing communication plans, communication calendars, or stakeholder cascade plans.
- Experience coordinating communications across multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and initiatives.
- Experience supporting Human Resources, Talent Management, Employee Communications, or other people-related programs strongly preferred.
- Experience working with U.S.-based or global stakeholders preferred.
- Global Capability Center or shared-services experience preferred. Must Have Skills • Excellent written English communication,
writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop clear, concise, audience-appropriate communications.
- Experience developing and executing communication plans and cascade plans.
- Strong understanding of internal or employee communication principles.

- Experience supporting communications for Talent Management, Learning &
- Development, Performance Management, Employee Experience, or other HR programs.
- Experience developing leader or manager communication toolkits.
- Experience maintaining editorial calendars or enterprise communication calendars.
- Familiarity with internal communication platforms, intranets, email distribution tools, or employee communication technology.
- Experience working with communication templates, brand standards, or style guides.
- Basic understanding of communication measurement, engagement data, or channel effectiveness.
- Healthcare or other highly regulated industry experience.
