Job Title: Academic Talent Council (ATC) Subject Specialist

About the Role:
Orchids The International School is looking for experienced academic professionals to join our Academic Talent Council (ATC) as Subject Specialists. The role focuses on assessing and selecting teachers based on subject knowledge, teaching ability, classroom management and pedagogy.
This is not a recruitment/HR role. We are looking for experienced educators who can identify strong teaching talent and maintain high academic standards across the school network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct subject knowledge tests and situational judgement assessments for teacher candidates.
- Conduct structured academic interviews covering pedagogy, learning outcomes, classroom management and assessment.
- Evaluate candidates through demo/explanation rounds and assess their teaching skills.
- Score candidates objectively using standard assessment scorecards.
- Work closely with the recruitment team on open positions and talent pipelines.
- Contribute to subject question banks and assessment processes.
- Support onboarding and the initial development program for selected teachers.
- Track and contribute to the 90-day competency outcomes of selected teachers.
• Participate in hiring drives, demo rounds and campus recruitment activities.
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years of classroom teaching experience in the relevant subject and grade band.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine academic/teaching background.
- Experience as an HOD, mentor or teacher-trainer is preferred.
- Strong communication and interviewing skills.
- Ability to objectively evaluate teaching quality and provide constructive feedback.
- Exposure to assessment or test design is preferred.
- Familiarity with CBSE, ICSE or IB curriculum standards.
- Willingness to travel for demo rounds, branch visits and hiring camps.
• Comfortable working with data, scorecards and structured assessments.
