- Teach classical dance techniques according to the students age and skill level.
- Train students in basic steps, postures, hand gestures (mudras), expressions (abhinaya), rhythm and movement.
- Teach appropriate classical dance repertoire and compositions.
- Ensure students understand the theory, history and cultural significance of the dance form.
- Conduct regular practice sessions and progressively develop students' skills.

- Identify students with interest and aptitude in classical dance.
- Encourage confidence, discipline, creativity and stage presence.
- Provide individual attention and additional practice where required.
- Monitor students' progress and maintain appropriate records.
- Motivate students to participate in competitions, performances and cultural events.
