Role Description The Chess Instructor role is a full-time remote position focused on delivering engaging online chess coaching sessions to children and adolescents aged 5 to 16. The instructor will design and deliver lesson plans that develop students’ understanding of chess fundamentals, strategies, and tactics, adapting teaching methods to different skill levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting live virtual classes, monitoring progress, providing individualized feedback, and preparing teaching materials such as puzzles, game analyses, and practice exercises.

The role also involves communicating with parents or guardians about student development,



maintaining organized records of sessions and performance, and collaborating with the institute’s team to continuously improve the curriculum and learning experience.

Qualifications

- Ability to teach core chess concepts and strategies; strong practical Chess skills suitable for instructing beginners and intermediate learners.
- Comfort with Mathematics and logical reasoning to explain patterns, calculations, and decision-making in chess.
- Demonstrated Teaching and Tutoring experience, particularly with children and teens in an online or classroom setting.
- Experience in Training learners, including planning lessons, structuring progressive skill development, and using learning objectives.
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency with online teaching platforms, basic computer skills, and stable internet connectivity for remote instruction.
- Relevant certifications in chess coaching, teaching, or education are beneficial; prior experience in competitive chess is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules across different time zones, and maintain professional conduct with students and families.
