You'll design and build the physical robot. That means supporting today's robot, adding the mounts and structure for the next one, and leading the mechanical design of our new chassis.
What you'll do
- Support the current robot with mechanical fixes, mounts and spare parts
- Design mounts and enclosures for sensors, safety scanners and emergency stops
- Design and build the new chassis, body and cart-engagement mechanisms
- Build prototypes and robots, and write build documentation and assembly guides
- Work with suppliers on fabrication (sheet metal, machining, 3D printing)
What we're looking for
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Automotive Engineering
- Robust 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo or similar)
- Hands-on building experience: fabrication, assembly, tools
- Understanding of design for manufacturing and basic structural design
Nice to have
- Vehicle or robot chassis design
- FEA / basic stress analysis
- SAE Baja, Formula SAE or similar team experience
