Role Summary The Business Development Executive will identify, pursue and convert EPC opportunities in the cement sector. This covers recent integrated plants, clinker and grinding units, capacity expansions, waste heat recovery systems (WHRS), captive power, material handling, and balance-of-plant packages. The role owns the pipeline from lead generation to order finalisation, working closely with the estimation, engineering, contracts and projects teams.

Key Responsibilities

Market & lead generation

- Map and track upcoming cement capacity additions, expansions, debottlenecking and modernisation plans across India (and target export markets).
- Build and maintain a database of cement manufacturers, project consultants, technology suppliers and financing bodies.
- Monitor tenders and enquiries on portals, industry publications and client networks, and evaluate bid/no-bid viability.

Client relationship management

- Develop and sustain relationships with decision-makers at cement companies (promoters, project heads, procurement and technical teams).
- Coordinate with technology and equipment partners (OEMs, licensors) and project management consultants to position the company for turnkey and package EPC work.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and client meetings.

Proposal & bid management

- Study RFQs/tender documents and coordinate techno-commercial proposals with engineering, estimation, procurement and contracts teams.
- Prepare pre-qualification submissions, company credentials, and presentations.
- Support price negotiations, commercial and contractual clarifications, and post-bid follow-ups until order closure.

Commercial & contractual support





- Assist in evaluating scope, risk, payment terms, LDs, warranties and performance guarantees.
- Coordinate handover to the project team after order award and support early-stage client interface.

Reporting & strategy

- Maintain the sales pipeline, enquiry-to-order conversion data and competitor intelligence.
- Prepare periodic MIS and forecasts for management review.

Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Chemical Engineering (mandatory).
- MBA/PGDM in Marketing or Operations is preferred.

Experience
- 3 to 6 years in business development, sales or estimation in EPC, with at least 2 years exposure to cement, power, or heavy process industry projects.
- Prior experience handling tenders and techno-commercial proposals for turnkey or package contracts is strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of the cement process (crushing, raw mill, kiln, cooler, cement mill, packing and dispatch) and major plant equipment.
- Understanding of EPC/LSTK contract structures, FIDIC-type terms, bid security, performance guarantees and payment milestones.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools and tender portals.
- Ability to read basic engineering drawings, BOQs and technical specifications.
- Self-driven, target-oriented, and comfortable with travel to client offices and sites.
