We are looking for a Senior Business Development Professional to join the ACME Solar vertical at our Corporate Office.
The ideal candidate should have rich and proven experience in the Solar Industry, with a strong track record in business development, strategic partnerships, and opportunity origination. The candidate must also possess a strong understanding of solar-sector regulatory frameworks, policies, compliances, approvals, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the solar energy sector.
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, IPPs, EPC companies, investors, utilities/DISCOMs, government agencies, consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with ACME Solar's growth objectives.
- Originate and evaluate opportunities across utility-scale solar, C&I;, rooftop, open-access, and other relevant solar segments.
- Lead commercial discussions, negotiations, term sheets, MoUs, and strategic partnerships.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, tariffs, tender opportunities, and emerging business models.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Demonstrate a deep working knowledge of solar-sector regulations, policies, approvals, and statutory requirements.
- Track and interpret changes in central and state-level renewable energy policies and regulations.
- Understand regulatory frameworks affecting solar projects, including open access, grid connectivity, transmission, wheeling, banking, net metering, RPO/REC mechanisms, land-related approvals, and applicable environmental/statutory clearances.
- Coordinate with internal legal, regulatory, commercial, project,
and technical teams to ensure business opportunities are commercially and regulatory viable.
- Engage with relevant regulatory authorities, utilities/DISCOMs, government departments, and industry bodies as required.
- Assess regulatory risks and their potential impact on project economics, timelines, and execution.
Chance Evaluation
- Conduct preliminary commercial and regulatory assessment of new solar opportunities.
- Evaluate project feasibility, tariffs, offtake structures, connectivity, land considerations, incentives, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare business cases, opportunity assessments, and management presentations.
- Support due diligence and transaction processes for new projects and partnerships.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers across the solar ecosystem.
- Represent ACME Solar in industry meetings, conferences, tenders, and stakeholder discussions.
- Maintain a robust network across government, regulatory bodies, utilities, developers, investors, and industry partners.
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
- 15 + years of professional experience, with significant experience specifically in the solar industry.
- Candidates must have hands-on experience in solar business development, project development, commercial development, regulatory affairs, or a closely related function.
- Deep understanding of solar-sector regulatory and compliance requirements is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of the Indian solar market and relevant central/state regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record of originating, developing, negotiating, or closing solar business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of solar project economics and commercial structures.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including legal, regulatory, finance, technical, and project development teams.
