This role will be responsible for spearhead commercial growth and establishing a robust client base for our CRO/ CDMO business. Build strategic partnerships, and drive revenue by acquiring pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and specialty chemical customers. This is a foundational role requiring deep industry knowledge, robust commercial acumen, and the ability to navigate complex business deals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and convert new business opportunities, with a focus on NCE projects.
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closure.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers across the biopharma development ecosystem.
- Serve as the commercial link between clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment with technical and operational capabilities.
- Representing the organization at industry forums, conferences, and business development meetings.
- Provide market insights that shape commercial strategy through competitive intelligence and client feedback.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 5-10 years of business development experience in a CDMO, with strong expertise in small molecule APIs.
- Strong understanding of drug development pipelines, especially early-phase NCE programs.
- Ph.D./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related science field.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are preferred.
