Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect with 8–15 years of experience to design, implement and govern secure, scalable and highly available AWS solutions for enterprise environments. The role requires strong hands-on architecture experience across AWS infrastructure, networking, multi-account governance, security, Infrastructure as Code, containers, CI/CD and cloud migration. The successful candidate will translate business and technical requirements into production-ready architecture, guide engineering teams, document design decisions, and work closely with application, DevOps, security and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Design end-to-end AWS architectures covering compute, networking, storage, databases, security, observability and application integration.
- Develop highly available and fault-tolerant solutions with appropriate Multi-AZ and, where required, multi-region architectures, including clear RTO/RPO considerations.
- Design AWS landing zones and multi-account environments using AWS Control Tower, Account Factory / AFT, organizational governance and CloudFormation StackSets.
- Define AWS networking architectures including VPCs, CIDR strategy, public/private subnets, routing, Transit Gateway, hybrid connectivity, Route 53 and CloudFront.
- Implement enterprise security architecture using IAM, least-privilege access, IAM Identity Center, KMS, Secrets Manager, security groups and encryption in transit and at rest.
- Establish security and compliance controls using CloudTrail, AWS Config, Security Hub and related governance/monitoring capabilities.
- Design and review container platforms using Amazon EKS, Docker, Kubernetes networking, scaling, upgrades and workload security.
- Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including reusable modules, provider configuration, remote state, environment strategy and multi-account deployments.
- Design and integrate CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild and CodeDeploy and/or enterprise Git-based CI/CD platforms, including cross-account deployment patterns.
- Architect cloud migrations and modernization initiatives, evaluating application dependencies, migration patterns, cutover strategy, rollback, resilience and operational readiness.




- Work with application and engineering teams on microservices, APIs, messaging and asynchronous processing using services such as SQS and related AWS capabilities.
- Define observability and operational architecture using CloudWatch and, where applicable, enterprise tools such as Datadog, New Relic or Prometheus.
- Perform architecture reviews, identify reliability/security/performance risks, and recommend cost-optimization opportunities.
- Create architecture documents, HLD/LLD diagrams, infrastructure standards, deployment guidance and technical decision records.
- Participate in pre-sales, requirement workshops, solution discussions and stakeholder meetings; communicate architecture trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers through implementation, production support and continuous improvement.

HA / DR

Multi-AZ, multi-region patterns where applicable, fault tolerance, backup/recovery, RTO/RPO and disaster-recovery planning.

CI/CD

AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy and/or GitHub Actions/Jenkins; automated testing and deployment; blue-green/rolling deployment and rollback.

Architecture & Integration

Microservices, APIs, asynchronous processing, messaging, application integration and managed AWS services.

Observability

CloudWatch, logging, metrics, alerting and integration with enterprise monitoring platforms.

Architecture & Delivery Expectations





- Ability to explain architecture decisions with clear trade-offs rather than only listing AWS services.
- Demonstrated ownership from requirements and solution design through implementation, deployment, production readiness and handover.
- Ability to distinguish Infrastructure as Code responsibilities from CI/CD, application testing and deployment responsibilities.
- Robust understanding of AWS-native security and governance rather than relying only on generic cloud or Azure terminology.
- Ability to design for availability, disaster recovery, scalability, security, operational excellence and cost efficiency.
- Strong documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, design documents, standards and implementation guidance.
- Clear, structured communication with senior stakeholders, engineering teams, security teams and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional preferred; AWS Solutions Architect – Associate is an advantage.
- Experience with enterprise-scale AWS environments and multi-account cloud operating models.
- Experience with cloud migration, modernization and architecture assessments.
- Experience with financial, retail, healthcare, e-commerce, logistics, SaaS, banking or other enterprise workloads is an advantage.
- Experience with Python, Bash or other scripting/automation languages is an advantage.
- Experience with cost optimization, Well-Architected reviews and cloud governance is an advantage.

What We Are Looking For

This is an architecture-led role rather than a server administration position. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate real project examples and explain the technical decisions behind AWS networking, security, Terraform, multi-account governance, EKS, HA/DR and CI/CD. Candidates should be comfortable going beyond tool names and describing architecture, implementation, trade-offs, risks and outcomes.
