Key Responsibilities:

- Work on challenging and highly visible projects for Fixed Income and other business areas driven by business needs.
- Perform hands-on development as an individual contributor, including writing unit tests and participating in testing activities throughout the SDLC (DEV, UAT).
- Participate in daily stand-ups following Agile/Scrum methodologies and work closely with TPMs and other development team members.
- Perform design and code reviews for ongoing projects.
- Follow Mizuho’s coding, design standards, comply with security, and other internal requirements.
- Participate in change management processes, support production deployments, and take ownership of project delivery.
- Continuously review software health, code quality, and security vulnerabilities, and evaluate new tools and libraries to improve engineering practices.
- Assist in maintaining project documentation and operational runbooks.
- Propose new technical solutions, perform proof-of-concepts (POCs), and collaborate with technical leads and architects on technology evaluations.
- Improve application stability through monitoring, incident handling,



and platform upgrades.
- Mentor and coach junior software developers and analysts.

Qualifications:

- 8+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
- 5+ years of experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with functional programming, threading/concurrency, collections, exception handling, and core Java concepts.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Experience developing and integrating distributed systems, including performance, security, and error handling considerations.
- Ability to create high-level and low-level designs, workflow diagrams, and participate in architecture and design review sessions.
- Angular development experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with business users and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work with teams across different geographical locations and time zones.
- Experience with messaging platforms such as ActiveMQ (AMQ) or Kafka is preferred.
- Good understanding of SQL, relational data models, and query optimization.
- Good knowledge of networking and communication protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, TCP/IP, etc.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and build tools such as Maven.




- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred) and container platforms (OpenShift or similar) is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial markets and fixed income products is desirable.
- Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies to improve productivity, code quality, troubleshooting, and software delivery processes.
