About the Role

JSS SJCE Automobile COE, Mysuru, is looking for an Automotive Technical Tool Trainer to deliver practical, industry-oriented technical training to Diploma and Engineering students.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on exposure to automotive systems, vehicle service, diagnostics, repair and workshop practices, along with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students.

Candidates with experience in authorized 2-wheeler dealerships/service centres, particularly from brands such as TVS, Bajaj, Hero MotoCorp, Yamaha, Suzuki, Royal Enfield, Honda, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Prior formal teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with strong technical/service experience and good communication skills who are interested in training students will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Training

- Conduct classroom and practical training sessions for Diploma and Engineering students.
- Train students on fundamentals of automotive systems, vehicle operation, maintenance, diagnostics and repair.
- Demonstrate automotive components, systems, tools and workshop procedures through hands-on sessions.
- Explain technical concepts using practical examples from real-world service and repair environments.
- Conduct demonstrations and practical exercises using automotive training equipment available at the COE.

2. Automotive Systems & Diagnostics

Provide training/exposure in areas such as:

- Two-wheeler automotive systems
- Engine fundamentals and working principles
- Fuel injection and ignition systems
- Transmission and drivetrain
- Braking systems
- Suspension and steering
- Electrical and electronic systems
- Sensors and actuators
- Battery and charging systems
- Vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting
- OBD/diagnostic tools
- Preventive maintenance and service procedures
- Workshop tools and equipment
- Basic automotive electronics

3. Emerging Automotive Technologies The trainer will also support introductory training in Electric Vehicle technologies, including:





- EV fundamentals and architecture
- Electric motors
- Battery packs and battery management systems
- EV charging fundamentals
- Basic EV diagnostics
- Regenerative braking
- EV safety awareness
- Introduction to automotive electronics and control systems

4. Student Development
- Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops.
- Mentor students during hands-on activities and technical projects.
- Support students in developing automotive projects and mini-projects.
- Help students understand real-world automotive service and workshop practices.
- Assess student technical competency through practical tests, assignments and demonstrations.
- Maintain student attendance, assessment and training records.
- Identify students requiring additional technical support and provide guidance.

5. Training Content & COE Activities
- Assist in preparing training material, presentations, practical manuals and demonstrations.
- Develop simple technical exercises and workshop activities for students.
- Support the COE in conducting technical workshops, bootcamps, seminars and industry-oriented training programs.
- Participate in faculty/student training initiatives and industry engagement activities.
- Support industry visits, technical demonstrations and guest sessions when required.
- Maintain and ensure proper usage of automotive training tools and equipment.

Required Technical Skills The candidate should have practical knowledge of:

- Automotive vehicle systems
- Two-wheeler service and repair

- Workshop tools and equipment
- Troubleshooting and fault identification
- Preventive and corrective maintenance
- Basic EV technology

Experience with diagnostic scanners, OBD systems, service manuals, wiring diagrams and workshop diagnostic procedures will be an advantage.

Candidates with ITI/Diploma strong automotive industry experience may also be considered.

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:

- Two-wheeler authorized service centres
- Automotive dealerships
- Vehicle service and repair workshops
- Automotive technical support
- Automotive diagnostics
- Service technician / Senior Technician
- Service Advisor
- Technical Trainer
- Automotive workshop instructor
- Automotive equipment/service companies

Compensation & Career Opportunity:

The initial engagement will be contractual. Extension of the contract will be based on performance, student feedback, technical competency, training delivery and contribution to COE activities.

High-performing candidates may subsequently be considered for conversion to a full-time position, subject to organizational requirements and performance.
