Automation Test Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with 25 years of hands-on experience in test automation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Selenium, and Playwright, along with a good understanding of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of web applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Playwright.
- Create and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks.
- Develop automated test cases for functional, regression, smoke, and integration testing.
- Execute automation test suites and analyze test results.
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and testing needs.
- Perform root-cause analysis of automation failures and application defects.
- Maintain test data, test environments, and automation scripts.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in test planning, test case reviews, defect triage, and release activities.
- Continuously improve test automation coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain test documentation and automation reports.

Mandatory Skills
- 2–5 years of experience in Software Testing / QA Automation.




- Strong hands-on experience with Java.
- Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of automation framework development and maintenance.
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts, Java collections, exception handling, and basic programming concepts.
- Experience with TestNG/JUnit or similar testing frameworks.
- Good understanding of XPath, CSS selectors, waits, web elements, browser handling, and synchronization techniques.
- Experience in API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured is an advantage.
- Positive understanding of Git/version control.
- Exposure to Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect life cycle, and Agile methodologies.

Good to Have
- Experience with Maven/Gradle.
- Experience with REST API automation using REST Assured.
- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Experience working with Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI.
- Knowledge of Docker or cloud-based testing platforms.
- Experience with cross-browser and parallel test execution.
- Familiarity with Page Object Model and other automation design patterns.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in QA/Test Automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
