Purpose/Objective

The First Class Mines Manager will be responsible for the secure, efficient, and statutory operation of limestone/mineral mines.

The incumbent will ensure compliance with mining regulations, achieve production targets, manage resources effectively, and drive operational excellence while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Ensure achievement of monthly and annual production targets.
- Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and transportation activities.
- Optimize mine productivity and equipment utilization.

Safety & Compliance - Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, DGMS regulations, MMR, and other statutory requirements.

- Implement and monitor safety management systems and safe work practices.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions.

Resource & Team Management - Lead and manage mine engineers, supervisors, operators, and contractual manpower.

- Develop workforce capability through training and skill enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure effective deployment of manpower and equipment.

Mine Planning & Development - Coordinate with mine planning and geology teams for short-term and long-term mine plans.

- Monitor mine development activities and ensure adherence to approved mining plans.
- Support exploration and reserve estimation activities.





Contractor Management - Manage mining contractors and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.

- Monitor contractor performance related to productivity, safety, and quality standards.

Environment Management - Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and mine closure requirements.

- Drive initiatives related to green mining, dust suppression, and sustainability.

Reporting & Documentation - Maintain statutory records, reports, and documentation.

- Prepare MIS reports on production, productivity, safety, and equipment performance.
- Liaise with government authorities, DGMS officials, and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification - Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mining Engineering from a recognized institute.

Mandatory Certification - First Class Mines Manager Certificate of Competency (Restricted/Unrestricted) issued under DGMS regulations.

Experience - 8-15 years of experience in open-cast mining operations.

- Experience in limestone mines will be preferred.
- Proven exposure to drilling, blasting, mine planning, fleet management, and statutory compliance.
