Role Description The Associate, IP Litigation role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The associate will handle day-to-day responsibilities including drafting and reviewing pleadings, written statements, legal notices, and opinions in IP disputes involving trademarks, patents, copyright, and related rights. The role includes researching case law and statutes, assisting in strategy formulation for complex litigation, coordinating with clients and counsel,



and managing case files and documentation.

The associate will appear before courts and tribunals as required, support senior lawyers in hearings, and help prepare evidence, submissions, and briefing notes. The position also involves collaboration with colleagues across practice areas, contributing to internal knowledge development, and maintaining high professional and ethical standards in client service.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in Law, with an LL.B. or equivalent degree from a recognized institution and eligibility to practice before the Bombay High Court.
- Proven knowledge of Intellectual Property Law, including experience with IP disputes, enforcement, and advisory work.
- Competence in Trademarks, including prosecution, portfolio management, opposition, and infringement litigation.
- Exposure to Patent Law and Patent Preparation, including understanding of patentability, infringement, and validity issues.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills; strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, work under deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
- Prior experience in IP litigation or with an IP-focused law firm is preferred; judicial internship or moot court experience in IP is an advantage.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, attention to detail, and client-centric approach.
