We are hiring a Junior Associate at Chaturvedi & Thakar Advocates.

The role is intended for an early-career lawyer looking to build robust practical ability through direct exposure to the Partners and a broad range of legal work. The Associate will work across commercial disputes, arbitration, real estate and redevelopment matters, transactional documentation and general commercial advisory work.

Key responsibilities will include legal research and drafting, assisting on litigation and arbitration matters, attending and appearing before Courts, tribunals and other authorities, reviewing and organising matter documents, preparing briefs and chronologies, assisting on agreements and other transactional documents, and communicating with existing and prospective clients where required, including international clients and professional contacts.

We are not looking for an unusually extensive or highly decorated experience profile. We are looking for someone who is presentable, communicates well in written and spoken English, has fair drafting ability, is confident and ready to appear before Courts and other forums, is punctual and professionally disciplined,



and is genuinely ambitious about developing as a lawyer.

The role will also require the Associate to use technology and generative AI intelligently as part of day-to-day legal work. Candidates should be comfortable using AI tools for research, organisation and drafting through clear and accurate instructions, while independently verifying and taking responsibility for the final work product.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across contentious and non-contentious matters rather than restricting themselves to a single practice area. We value initiative, responsibility, curiosity and the willingness to learn quickly.

Eligibility

- LL.B. from a recognised Indian law school
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa, or eligible to enrol immediately
- Strong written and spoken English
- Ability to work from Mumbai and attend Courts, client meetings and professional engagements as required
