Assistant Security Manager —

Position: Assistant Security Manager

Location: Lemon Tree Hotel, Ranchi

Role Summary The Assistant Security Manager supports day-to-day security operations, ensuring the safety of guests, staff, and hotel assets. This is a genuine second-in-command role, with real ownership of shifts, incident response, and staff supervision — not just a support function.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Safety

- Supervise security staff across shifts; conduct regular property rounds including guest floors, back-of-house, and perimeter
- Oversee CCTV coverage, flagging and resolving any blind spots or equipment issues promptly
- Ensure consistent, non-discretionary enforcement of bag-check and access-control procedures for all staff and visitors
- Lead fire safety readiness — drills, extinguisher/hydrant inspections, and coordination with the fire department; train & support the Emergency Response Team
- Manage vendor and contractor access logging

Guest Interaction

- Handle guest-related security matters firmly but politely — hold the line on policy and safety without ever escalating into confrontation with a guest
- De-escalate difficult situations calmly, involving the Security Manager or GM promptly when required

Incident Management

- Respond to and document security, medical, and loss-prevention incidents following proper protocol
- Provide first-response support for medical emergencies pending professional help




- Coordinate with local police and emergency services when required
- Support investigations into theft or policy violations alongside HR and department heads

Team Supervision

- Train new security staff on protocols, emergency procedures, and guest service standards
- Conduct performance check-ins with guards/supervisors, escalating issues appropriately
- Ensure shift coverage with no gaps, including festivals and high-occupancy periods

Compliance & Reporting

- Maintain security logs, equipment maintenance records, and compliance documentation
- Deputize for the Security Manager during leave or high-volume periods, with full operational authority
- Report proactively on security gaps or risks, not only when asked

Requirements

- 2-3 years of security supervisory experience, ideally in hospitality; disciplined backgrounds (ex-defence, ex-police, private security agencies) welcome
- Working knowledge of CCTV systems, access control, and incident documentation
- Fire safety training and hands-on fire drill experience strongly preferred
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Ability to enforce protocol consistently and fairly, without exceptions for familiarity or convenience
- Willingness to work wide-ranging shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
