Key Responsibilities
- Handle procurement activities for raw materials, consumables, tools, and engineering components.
- Send enquiries to vendors and obtain quotations as per requirement.
- Compare quotations and prepare comparative statements for approval.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) after approval.
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with stores, production, QA/QC, and accounts departments for smooth procurement operations.
- Ensure proper documentation related to purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and GRNs.
- Maintain records of vendor performance, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Develop new vendors and maintain robust relationships with existing suppliers.
- Coordinate with QC department regarding rejected materials and replacement follow-ups.
- Monitor inventory levels and support minimum stock maintenance.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms,
and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Support audit requirements by maintaining proper purchase and vendor documents.
- Ensure timely closure of pending purchase activities and material follow-up.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Commerce, or related field.
- 25 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of industrial materials, engineering components, and vendor management.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with multiple departments.
