Role Description The Assistant Professor (Mechanical Engineering) will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering through lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing course materials, preparing lesson plans, assessing student performance, and providing academic guidance and mentoring. The role also involves engaging in curriculum development, participating in departmental meetings, and contributing to accreditation and quality assurance activities.

and collaborate on academic projects and industry linkages. This is a full time, in office role based at CT Group of Institutions in Jalandhar.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering principles, including design, thermodynamics, manufacturing, and materials.
- Ability to develop and deliver structured lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions using contemporary teaching methodologies.
- Competence in academic assessment, including setting assignments, evaluating examinations, and providing constructive feedback.
- Research aptitude with the ability to undertake independent and collaborative research, and contribute to publications and conferences.
- Effective classroom management and student mentoring skills, with a focus on inclusive and supportive learning environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using educational technologies, learning management systems, and standard engineering software tools.
- Master’s degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Prior teaching or academic experience at the college or university level is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team and participate in departmental and institutional activities.
