Role Description The Assistant Manager Finance is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end accounting including AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger.
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and prepaid entries for accuracy and proper classification.
- Complete month-end and year-end close within agreed timelines.
- Perform bank, vendor, customer, and intercompany reconciliations, and resolve open items.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure consistent mapping for group reporting.
- Coordinate with statutory and internal auditors, prepare audit schedules, and close audit observations.
- Management Reporting
- Weekly: cash position,
fund flow, receivables and payables ageing, collections tracker.
- Monthly: P&L;, balance sheet, cost-centre analysis, budget vs actual with variance commentary.
- Quarterly: MIS pack for leadership, including KPIs, trend analysis, and cash flow statement.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and group consolidation inputs.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis for commercial and leadership decisions.
- Tax and ROC Compliance
- GST: monthly and annual returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C), ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2B, and export-of-services / LUT compliance.
- TDS: deduction, deposit, quarterly returns, and Form 16/16A issuance.
- Income tax: advance tax computation, tax audit support, and ITR filing.
- Transfer pricing: maintain intercompany agreements, invoicing, and TP documentation; support Form 3CEB.
- ROC / MCA: annual filings (AOC-4, MGT-7), event-based filings, statutory registers, and board meeting support with the Company Secretary.
- Other: FEMA / RBI reporting for foreign inward remittances (e.g., FIRC tracking), and professional tax, PF, and ESI compliance as applicable.
- Maintain a statutory compliance calendar and ensure zero missed deadlines.
- SOPs and Automation
- Document finance processes as SOPs with explicit roles, approval matrices, and controls (maker-checker,
segregation of duties).
- Identify manual, repetitive, or error-prone processes and propose automation.
- Build or improve automated reports and templates (Excel Power Query, macros, Power BI, or ERP-native features).
- Evaluate tools for AP automation, expense management, and reconciliation.
- Periodically review and update SOPs as processes change.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong core finance and accounting skills, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis and planning, such as variance analysis, cash flow management, and cost control.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or enterprise financial systems (experience with Oracle ERP or related platforms is an advantage).
- Candidates should possess knowledge of compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements, including statutory reporting and internal controls.
- Candidates should possess strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Candidates should possess organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidate must be CA with 3-7 years of experience
- Experience in technology, consulting, or enterprise transformation environments, and familiarity with project-based financial management, will be beneficial.
