Job OverviewThe Assistant Facility Manager is responsible for day-to-day building operations, physical infrastructure maintenance, specialized dental utility support, and safety compliance across clinical, academic, and administrative areas of the dental college. This role ensures a clean, safe, and fully operational setting for dental faculty, students, staff, and patients.
Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Dental Infrastructure Management
- Monitor and coordinate servicing of specialized clinical utilities, including central suction systems, compressed air lines, medical gas supplies, reverse osmosis (RO) water plants, and dental chairs.
- Oversee biomedical waste segregation, storage, and collection in strict adherence to regulatory standards and institutional infection control protocols.
- Coordinate water quality testing and sterilization unit (CSSD) maintenance to maintain clinical hygiene standards.
2. General Operations & Preventive Maintenance
- Manage scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical sub-stations, plumbing, backup diesel generators, and elevators.
- Conduct daily physical walk-throughs to inspect campus cleanliness, lighting, ventilation, and structural upkeep.
- Log, track, and resolve maintenance service tickets submitted by clinical departments and academic faculties.
3. Vendor & Service Provider Coordination
- Supervise third-party vendors for housekeeping, security, pest control, and landscaping.
- Oversee external service technicians during equipment repair, calibration, or installation.
- Verify work completion, review vendor service reports, and process invoices for approval.
4. Safety, Compliance & Security
- Ensure strict compliance with local fire safety norms, occupational health guidelines, and healthcare accreditation standards (e.g., NABH / Joint Commission).
- Organize regular fire drills, inspect emergency exits, and ensure all fire suppression equipment is fully certified and functional.
- Oversee campus physical security, access control systems, and CCTV surveillance networks.
5. Inventory & Operational Budgeting
- Maintain accurate inventory levels for facility spare parts, consumables, housekeeping supplies, and generator fuel.
- Assist the Facility Manager in preparing annual operating budgets and tracking utility usage to implement energy-saving initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
- Experience: 1 to 2 years in facility management
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of healthcare utilities, MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), BMS (Building Management Systems), and waste disposal protocols.
- Competencies: Strong leadership, crisis management, multi-tasking capability, and clear communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
