Position Overview

BITS Law School is seeking dedicated and dynamic faculty members who will contribute to:

Successful candidates will actively participate in teaching, research, curriculum development, and student mentoring, while contributing to the growth of a vibrant academic community.

Key Responsibilities

Focus Areas

We are looking for candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Evidence Law
- Labor Law
- Public International Law
- Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
- Legal Aid Clinic
- Technology Law: IT | Communication Governance
- Family Law
- Political Science: Intl. Relations, Political Risk
- Finance | Organizational Behavior

Candidates who are able and willing to teach across two or more of these areas will be strongly preferred.

Educational Qualifications For Assistant / Associate Professor

- LL.M. from a reputed Indian or international university.




- PhD/ SJD in Law completed OR currently in progress at a recognized institution.

For Professor
- PhD or SJD in Law from a reputed Indian or international university.

Experience & Skills For Assistant/ Associate Professor

- Prior teaching experience or significant professional experience in relevant areas (litigation, law firms, policy research, or academia) will be preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in legal scholarship and interdisciplinary engagement.

For Professor

- Minimum 10 years of teaching experience at a reputed law school or university.
- Authorship of at least one scholarly monograph published by a recognized academic press.
- Minimum 10 peer-reviewed publications in reputed international journals or edited academic volumes.
- Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship will be an advantage.

Faculty members will be expected to:

- Design and deliver engaging courses using innovative pedagogical approaches such as the Socratic method, case-based teaching, and experiential learning.
- Maintain an active research agenda and publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and academic outlets.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic program design.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and professional development.
- Participate in institutional initiatives, committees, and academic governance.
